Gang Gang Cockatoos
These inquisitive and audacious birds can be seen throughout many parts of south-eastern Australia. Gang Gang Cockatoos undergo seasonal altitudinal migration from high forests to lower areas during the winter. The 2019-20 summer bushfires devastated Gang Gang Cockatoo habitat, impacted the wild population so drastically, they are now listed as an endangered species.
Fun fact! Gang Gang Cockatoos almost always use their left foot to hold food when eating.
